After a disappointing start, it’s full steam ahead for the San Francisco 49ers. They’ve won three straight games to move up to 6-5 on the season, including a crucial win over fellow playoff contender Minnesota last week. The 49ers have pulled off this turnaround by fully committing to being a ground-based offense, and it has paid dividends. They have 150+ yards on the ground during every game in this win streak, including a 208-yard performance against the Vikings last week.

The Seattle Seahawks, meanwhile, are just trying to find their footing again. They lost to the Washington Football Team on “Monday Night Football,” which included a stretch of five straight 3 and outs at one point. The offense has looked completely lost even with Russell Wilson’s return from injury, and at 3-8 it’s hard to imagine the Seahawks returning to anything resembling contention at this point in the season. However, if they’re going to make headway, now is the time in a divisional matchup.

For the 49ers, Deebo Samuel will miss the game with a groin injury. Samuel said he expects to return against the Bengals next week, but his injury has ripples. Pre-snap motion has become a staple of the 49ers offense, and oftentimes the threat of Samuel in jet motion is something teams have to account for. It will be interesting to see how Kyle Shanahan accounts for missing his best offensive threat.

The Seahawks, meanwhile, signed Adrian Peterson this week in an attempt to at least make some headway this season. They don’t have a first round pick, which they traded to the Jets for Jamal Adams last year, so that may inform their “never say die” attitude. While it’s a longshot, there’s always hope the NFC will continue to cannibalize itself for the 7th seed in the NFC. In the meantime, if the Washington loss was the death of the Seahawks’ season, a loss to the 49ers would be the final nail in its coffin. There’s always pride on the line in this game, so Pete Carroll and the 12th Man could be X Factors for Seattle.

Here’s what you need to know to watch 49ers vs. Seahawks this Sunday, including kickoff time, TV channels, and the full Week 13 NFL schedule.
