The Villanova Wildcats are coming off their worst 3-point shooting performance of the coach Jay Wright era, going 2 of 27 from 3-point range on Sunday in their loss at Butler, and they will look to get back on track Wednesday against Creighton.

Prior to Sunday’s loss, Villanova had been shooting 37.7 percent from 3-point range, good for 29th in the country. Now the Wildcats return to Philadelphia, where they shoot 40.3 percent from long range.

Creighton on defense forces a lot of shots to the outside as it ranks first in the Big East in opponent 2-point shooting percentage. Made 3-point shots account for 34.1 percent of the points the Bluejays allow, which is a higher percentage than 277 other Division I teams.

Villanova also has excelled at taking care of the ball, committing the second-fewest turnovers per game of any team in the country, and ranks 15th in free-throw shooting percentage at 78.2.

Creighton has an offense that is efficient, ranking 28th in the nation in points scored on a per-possession basis. But the Bluejays rate 312th in free-throw shooting percentage and allow opponents to rebound 26.5 percent of their miss shots. All of this should lead to Villanova being able to rebound from a cold shooting performance on Sunday.

The play: Villanova, -3.5.
