The husband of slain social media influencer Alexis Sharkey was found dead in Florida Wednesday — after authorities issued a warrant for his arrest in the 26-year-old’s death.
Thomas Sharkey, 50, was found dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound at his daughter’s home in Fort Myers early Tuesday after members of the Caribbean Regional Fugitive Task Force arrived to arrest him, US Marshals Office officials told the Houston Chronicle Wednesday.
A warrant was quietly issued to charge Thomas in the death of his wife on Sept. 29, and the US Marshals helped locate his whereabouts, KPRC-TV reported.

Thomas had fled Texas after Alexis’ naked corpse was discovered on a highway in Houston last November, the outlet said.
Her death was later ruled a homicide by strangulation.
Fans of the social media star, who had more than 30,000 followers on Instagram, quickly accused the husband of foul play — but he defended himself at the time.

“I have been assisting the deputies and making phone calls to fine [sic] out what happened to my wife. Next time…. stop and think! And realize! You don’t know it all!,” he wrote on Instagram in late November 2020.
A rep from the Lee County Sheriff’s Office told The Post officers are “investigating the case as a suicide,” but had no other immediate information.
Other details about Thomas’ suspected role in Alexis’ murder were also not immediately available Wednesday.
