A 13-year-old Asian boy was attacked on a Queens basketball court by teens who threw basketballs at his head while yelling “Go back to China” in an apparent bias crime, police said Wednesday.
The teen was playing ball in Bowne Park at 142-20 Barclay Ave. in Flushing around 6:30 p.m. Tuesday when he became embroiled in a fight with two or three males, police and police sources said.
One of the teens pushed the Asian boy to the ground and they all simultaneously began throwing balls at him, striking his head, cops said.
The victim told police the teens then said: “Stupid, f—–g Chinese. Go back to your country.”
The victim’s mom took him to Flushing Hospital, where he was treated for his injuries.
The NYPD’s Hate Crime Task Force was investigating, police said.
