The Formula 1 2021 campaign continues its course today with the third Grand Prix Race of the year at Portimão. The Portuguese Grand Prix is an exhibition in motorsports that first took place in 1951 as an event of a sportscar and then disappeared intermittents for a lot of years.
The Formula Three competition was held in 1964 and the Formula Three editions of 1965 and 1966. It was part of the 1960/1960 Formula One World Cup, from 1984 to 1996, and was resurrected in 2020 after a lengthy hiatus. It has had several circuits throughout though the years.

The race returned to Portimão for the 2020 season to help fill the sports calendar in view of other races that have been canceled because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
