After almost two years in jail awaiting trial on charges she paid her lover to kill her estranged husband, NYPD cop Valerie Cincinelli is hanging up her shield.
The 12-year veteran officially resigned from the NYPD on Monday — weeks before she’s scheduled to take a plea deal on April 16, police confirmed.
Cincinelli, 36, is expected to cop to one count of obstruction, for which she faces 47 to 57 months in prison, under federal sentencing guidelines, a source told The Post.
In exchange, federal prosecutors have agreed to drop the two murder-for-hire counts against her.
Cincinelli was arrested in May 2019 for allegedly paying her then-boyfriend John DiRubba $7,000 to hire a hitman to snuff out her estranged husband, Isaiah Carvalho Jr., amid a bitter divorce and custody battle over their son.
Her list of targets grew to include DiRubba’s own 15-year-old daughter who she complained was monopolizing too much of his money and affection, officials said. DiRubba eventually cooperated with authorities and wore a wire that recorded Cincinelli plotting the murders.
After her arrest, Cincinelli was suspended without pay and locked up at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn.
Defense lawyer James Kousouros and John Marzulli, a spokesman for the US Attorney’s Office in the Eastern District, declined to comment.
