A Staten Island toddler was killed when she was struck by a truck outside a grocery store on Friday afternoon.
Autumn Garrison, 2, walked in front of a Ford Explorer that was leaving a Stop and Shop on Forest Avenue in Elm Park around 1:45 p.m., according to the NYPD.
The driver of the truck hit the little girl, “knocked her down to the sidewalk and drove over her,” police said in a news release.
Autumn, who lived in nearby Mariners Harbor, received emergency care on the scene before she was taken to Richmond University Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead, officials said.
The 69-year-old woman who was behind the wheel stayed on the scene, and the investigation was ongoing, according to investigators.
