Two suspects were arrested Friday for allegedly stealing a funeral van carrying a woman’s body from a convenience store parking lot in Missouri, authorities said.
The thieves were taken into custody in Festus around 10 a.m.; cops also recovered the missing body and funeral van, according to the St. Louis County Police Department.
A witness alerted police about the stolen white van while the suspects were inside a Walmart in Festus, KTVI reported

Cops were initially searching for a man and a woman, who they believe stole the vehicle from the parking lot of a QuikTrip in Spanish Lake on Thursday.
The suspects had hopped into the van while the driver went into the store and left it running, police said.
Police shared surveillance photos of the man and woman — whose identities have not been released — after the theft. Charges in the case are unknown.
The deceased woman’s body was returned to the funeral home, according to cops.
