Man smoking pot stabbed in head during fight on NYC train: cops

A man was stabbed in the head on a Brooklyn train — after he punched another straphanger who confronted him for smoking pot in the rush-hour subway car, cops said.

The man was getting stoned around 8:20 a.m. on a Manhattan-bound R train at 77th Street in Bay Ridge when another male rider — later identified as 50-year-old Philip Desilva — told him to stop smoking, according to police.

In turn, he punched Desilva in the face, police said.

Desilva, in turn, allegedly stabbed the pot-smoker in the head, authorities said.

He was busted at the scene and charged with assault, menacing and criminal possession of weapon, police said. It was unclear if he was hospitalized.

The stabbing victim was taken to NYU Langone Hospital—Brooklyn in stable condition. Charges against him are pending.
