Video captures the moment a firebug set aflame a ticket booth at an Italian American festival in Brooklyn last month — and nearly torched himself in the process.

Adnan Ali Hussein, 28, can be seen at the ticket booth for the 18th annual Feast of Santa Rosalia in Bensonhurst on Aug. 24, according to the FDNY, which released footage of the incident Sunday.

Hussein first applies an “ignitable liquid” to the booth and then pulls an object out of his pocket and lights the booth on fire, officials said. Investigators believe he used a lighter, officials said.

The suspect can be seen on the video then jumping back in surprise when the flames nearly overtake him.

Hussein was arrested Sept. 2 and was charged with arson in the third degree, reckless endangerment and criminal mischief, officials said.

“Arson is not only a serious crime but also an extremely reckless act that can have devastating effects on the entire community,” Fire Commissioner Daniel Nigro said in a statement. “Our Fire Marshals quickly apprehended this individual before he caused any further damage or harm to New Yorkers.”
