Liverpool welcome Brighton and Hove Albion to Anfield on Wednesday. The defending champions need three more points to keep up their recent improvement in form.
Jurgen Klopp’s men have won back-to-back Premier League matches and can keep the pressure on the top two of Manchester City and Manchester United with City looming on the Reds’ weekend schedule.
Meanwhile, Brighton are reasonably distanced from the relegation zone but could use a point to stay in touch with the likes of Burnley, Newcastle United and Wolverhampton Wanderers.

After a late-December, early-January slump, Liverpool have won two on the bounce. Win again tonight, and it’s called a “winning streak.” It has happened before.
It’s hard to overstate how important three points are tonight. With Manchester City on the immediate horizon, Liverpool could go into the affair with a real chance to reel in the Sky Blues. At worst, they’d be 4 points behind, with a chance to make it just 1 point by the end of the day. But they have to win tonight. Brighton won’t make things easy on the Reds, but we should have enough, especially at Anfield. Time to start that winning streak back up again, after the stumble against Burnley.
