The Wildcat returns for his 24th season in The Post. Including the 1997-2019 seasons in the Bettor’s Guide, Cat’s record in print stands at 636-537 (54.2 percent) against the spread. Home team in CAPS.
Los Angeles Chargers (+6) over BUFFALO BILLS
Oregon quarterback product Justin Herbert is one of the best-looking gunslingers we’ve seen under center in a while. He’s helped keep the Bolts in one game after another, despite frequently being outmanned. Bills remain a solid contingent — but note: they haven’t beaten anyone by more than 10 points all season. NFL parity has long been the friend of underdog fanciers. Root for a thriller, with Chargers in the third leg of a four-game AFC East swing, for one unit.
GREEN BAY PACKERS (-8.5) over Chicago Bears
Apparently ahead of Nick Foles in terms of injury recovery, previous high draft choice Mitch Trubisky (shoulder) looms possible starter for this underdog. Meanwhile, markedly favored Pack has star Aaron Rodgers with whom to torture Pack’s favorite pet victim under the lights. Bears defensive muscle is diminished when away from the lakefront. Packers stifle traditional foe yet again, for one unit.
Last week: 1-1. Rams (W), Bengals (L).
2020 season: 9-12-1.
