It’s been all in the family for the LPGA Tour so far in 2021.

The first two events of the season were captured by the Korda sisters — with Jessica Korda claiming the season-opening Diamond Resorts Tournament of Champions and Nelly Korda capturing the Gainbridge Championship.

“Yeah, Jess’ win, I was like, ‘OK, I got to get one now,’” the 22-year-old Nelly said after her win last week.

“We were close that one year. She won in Thailand and I was leading in Singapore. But it’s nice to get back-to-back Korda wins now.”

And it might be three in a row. As of Friday afternoon, both Kordas were in the top 20 of the LPGA Drive On Championship in Ocala, Florida. They were paired together for the first two rounds of the event.

“Nelly and I were talking about being in a fish bowl today,” Jessica said of being in the featured group together on Thursday, alongside world No. 1 Jin Young Ko.

Jessica, 28, and Nelly are only two parts of a very athletic family. Their father Petr Korda was a top tennis player for years and won the 1988 Australian Open. Mother Regina Rajchrtová was also a professional tennis player, reaching as high as No. 26 in the world. Brother Sebastian, at 20 the baby of the family, is following in his parent’s footsteps, reaching the fourth round of the French Open last year. He is starting to make good on the potential of a promising juniors career.

“My dad always said back in the day that golf was a retirement sport. We’ve obviously completely changed his mind,” Jessica said in a recent Golf Digest interview in which both sisters were profiled.

Nelly’s win last week moved her up to No. 3 in the world, while Jessica sits at 18th.

“Obviously the reason we play golf is to be the best,” Nelly told the magazine of the rankings. “It means a lot to us, but there comes a point where we just don’t understand how it works. When you’re on the top of the money list, you’re doing really good.”
