Fantasy QB Rankings Week 10: Who to start, sit at quarterback in fantasy football

Somehow, we’re already into the double-digit weeks, and the fantasy football playoffs will be here before you know it. Whether you’re trying to remain atop your league standings, battling to stay in the playoff race, or simply playing spoiler, deciding who to start at fantasy’s highest-scoring position is always important. Use our Week 10 fantasy QB rankings to help you with those tough start ’em, sit ’em calls.

Tom Brady (@ Washington) is back from bye, so those who had to stream a QB last week can breathe easy. Jared Goff (@ Steelers) and maybe Geno Smith (vs. Packers) are back, but Taylor Heinicke (vs. Buccaneers is the only worthwhile streaming option among players back from a week off. Joe Burrow, Justin Fields, Daniel Jones, and Tyrod Taylor are heading into the bye, so it’s generally an easy week on that front. If Russell Wilson (finger) returns to spell Smith, then this week will get even better.

Running back | Wide receiver | Tight end | D/ST | Kicker

Jalen Hurts (@ Broncos) and Justin Herbert (vs. Vikings) figure to be the only bona fide studs with tough matchups. Hurts is essentially a must-start, but you could realistically find an option better than Herbert, who’s been a bit inconsistent lately.

Most owners will survive with only one fantasy stud on a bye (Burrow), but if you’re someone who opts to stream each week, your best options are Carson Wentz (vs. Jaguars), Heinicke (@ Tampa Bay), Matt Ryan (@ Dallas), and Mac Jones (vs. Browns).

Wentz’s ownership is climbing, though, so he could be unattainable. Ryan’s ownership is sitting at 55 percent, so he’s in the same boat. Heinicke and Jones are the most realistic options in all leagues, and although the matchup isn’t fantastic, Tua Tagovailoa (vs. Ravens) can be considered, too, if he’s back from his finger injury. He attempted 42 passes/game in his first three weeks back from his rib injury, so he could have a nice day due to volume. For what it’s worth, Ben Roethlisberger (vs. Lions) has a nice matchup at home, but we understand if you think his ceiling is too low.

We’ve sometimes called on Trevor Lawrence (@ Colts) and Sam Darnold (@ Cardinals) when our back has been against the wall at QB, but can we really trust either of those guys on the road against talent-rich defenses? In the preseason, we probably would’ve laughed at the thought of starting Mac Jones over Lawrence, but here we are.

All in all, it’s just a weird week for the middle part of the rankings. Put simply, the studs have fantastic matchups and the streamers don’t. If you don’t have one of the studs, you can survive, but this figures to be one of the toughest weeks to do so.

Make sure to monitor the latest on Wilson (finger) and Aaron Rodgers (reserve/COVID). Wilson isn’t expected to return just yet, but he could. Rodgers’ status will likely be in doubt all the way up to the end of the week, but he’s obviously a must-start against Seattle if he plays. Also, be ready to jump on Taysom Hill (@ Titans) if he’s named New Orleans’ starter. He’d have much more upside than Trevor Siemian thanks to his solid rushing floor.

Note: We’ll be updating these QB rankings throughout the week, so check back for the latest player movement and analysis.
