The fans of Buffalo Bills celebrated their win over Baltimore Ravens by using a unique idea this weekend.
On Saturday, the Bills won over the Ravens 17-3 in Asian Football Confederation divisional round. The Ravens, in Q3 of the game, lost QB Lamar Jackson because of concussion protocol.
So, the Bills fans wanted to extend their support towards the injured QB. They used Reddit for figuring out the NFL player’s favorite charity, reported VCNN affiliate agency WLKY-TV.
Once the fans learnt that Jackson has a long-term relationship with the non-profit ‘Blessings in a Backpack,’ the organization said that it started receiving huge amount of donations.
The organization aims at feeding school kids in the US who presently are fed in the weekdays with the Free & Reduced Meal Program and have the risk of staying hungry during weekends, as per its official website.
As on Saturday night, the Louisville chapter received over $75,000, as per WLKY-TV. Further efforts have been taken by the program due to coronavirus, as per its website.
The Bills fans are well-known for their charitable heart. They had donated funds to Andy Dalton, the then QB of Cincinnati Bengals in 2017. Previously in 2020 season, they also donated funds to a kid’s hospital expenses post Bills QB Josh Allen’s grandma died, as per ESPN.
