To the victor go the spoils.
Jevon Holland, a rookie safety on the Miami Dolphins, trolled Panthers quarterback Cam Newton on Instagram after recording an interception in the first quarter of Sunday’s game.
“Preciate it @panthers @camnewton7v7,” Holland wrote in the caption of an Instagram Story.
In a separate post, Holland re-shared a Story of himself doing Newton’s signature “Superman” move.
Holland was selected in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft and 36th overall by the Dolphins. His interception on Sunday was his second of the season. He has also forced two fumbles.
As for Newton, it was an abysmal day for the Panthers quarterback in his second start since returning to the team. Newton completed just five of 21 attempts for 92 yards — an abhorrent 4.4 yards per attempt — with zero touchdowns and two interceptions.
He was later benched for P.J. Walker in the Panthers’ eventual 33-10 loss.
