“Didn’t Do a Damn Thing in Free Agency”- Former NBA Champion Has Advice for the LA Clippers

The Los Angeles Clippers are under a lot of pressure to improve their image in the league. After a terrible exit from the playoffs last season, they were mocked for days and will continue to be for days to come if they don’t make their team better.

The Clippers lost at the hands of an underdog team like the Denver Nuggets. However, losing to them wasn’t the problem; it was the Clippers tanking a 3-1 lead despite being one of the title favorites. Most people were all hoping for a LA Western Conference Finals, but the Clippers crushed that dream.

While everyone thought the Clippers would make a lot of noise this offseason, that hasn’t really been happening. They have played it quite slowly so far and their biggest move has been signing Toronto Raptors‘ Serge Ibaka. He is an asset to them on the court and off the court as well. Other than that, they even retained Marcus Morris Sr.

The rivalry fans were hoping to see on the court has been presenting itself in the offseason. The Lakers and Clippers have shown interest in a lot of the same players. But since the purple and gold are last season’s champions, they have had the upper hand. The Clippers even lost Montrezl Harrell to the Lakers.

Do the Clippers need to wake up?

Are the Clippers losing out and not making decisions quick enough? This could be the case because former NBA player and champion, Kendrick Perkins has a suggestion for them.

Perkins tagged free-agent Isaiah Thomas and told the Clippers that they should sign a deal with him. He posted on Twitter, I’ve be hearing @isaiahthomas been look really good in workouts and he’s back healthy. @LAClippers since y’all really didn’t do a damn thing in free agency might as well give him a shot! Carry on…”

The veteran Thomas last played for the Washington Wizards but has been bouncing from team to team in recent years. Back in his prime, the point guard was one of the best in the league. Although his age and injuries have pulled him back, that won’t stop him from providing offence from off the bench.

What should the Clippers do? Is Isaiah Thomas a viable option?
