Cuomo staffers bail as nursing home, sex harass scandals spiral

Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s staff was hit with more resignations Friday as the embattled three-term executive struggles to hang onto his powerful post amid growing calls for his ouster over allegations of sexual harassment and the nursing home deaths cover-up.

The governor’s office confirmed the departures of health care data analyst Erin Hammond and one of Cuomo’s schedulers, Sophie Boldison, in a statement to The Post.

A spokesman for Cuomo said Hammond was leaving to “focus on her family” and that Boldison was taking a new position at the state university system — and claimed both departures had been in the works for some time.

At least five aides have left Cuomo’s staff in the last week and reports have emerged of a toxic work environment even before the scandals.

The highest-profile aide to leave Cuomo’s staff so far is Gareth Rhodes, a top coronavirus aide, who announced his departure Wednesday after a guest at his wedding went public with allegations that Cuomo sexually harassed her at the reception afterward.

Rhodes is returning to his previous post at the state’s Wall Street regulator, the Department of Financial Services.

That same day, a spokesman in the governor’s press office, Will Burns, announced he was stepping down so he could prepare to take the entrance exams for law school.

And Cuomo’s press secretary Caitlin Girouard is putting in her final day on Cuomo’s staff Friday — after spending two years there.

She is leaving for a post at a technology firm and told The Post in a statement she accepted the new job in January, before the tsunami of scandal hit.
