Apple announces plans of producing electric vehicles by 2024: Report

Apple has the objective to manufacture one passenger vehicle in 2024 that comes packed with the company’s own ‘breakthrough’ battery tech, as per one new report.

A major part of the iPhone maker’s automotive ambitions is one new design for the battery that can lower the price of batteries radically and boost the range of the vehicle, as per Reuters.

The company’s self-driving vehicle plans comes as it desperately looks for new ways to expand Apple’s revenue income as the sales of iPhone dip.

The efforts of the Tim-Cook led company to get in the car production game, dubbed as ‘Project Titan’ began in 2014; however, the company drew back its effort later in order to reassess its targets and concentrate on software.

Doug Field, Apple veteran, had fired around 190 workers from his team last year. However since then, Apple has progressed enough for aiming to develop one consumer car, two individuals having knowledge about the plan informed Reuters.

Car production, of course, isn’t without any challenges- also for a firm that has deep pockets. And while the California-based company manufactures millions of different electronic products per year and sources parts from across the globe, it hasn’t constructed a vehicle. Elon Musk took about 20 years to build Tesla before his firm turned towards a sustainable profit in making vehicles.
