Timing is everything.

Antonio Brown’s Buccaneers — and potentially, NFL — career came to an abrupt end on Sunday for reasons, but his hustle didn’t stop: Soon after he was deemed no longer a member of the team, he released a new song on his Instagram story. That is some pretty convenient timing from Brown and his management team.

There’s something of a disconnect surrounding Brown’s exit from the team: Reports indicate Brown refused to re-enter the game vs. the Jets, citing an ankle injury that has hindered him, while the Buccaneers believe Brown was fully healthy and capable of playing.

Regardless, Brown’s NFL career might be over, but his music career is just getting started again.

Antonio Brown’s new song

Titled “Pit Not the Palace,” the song is under two minutes long and the lyrical content is about what you’d expect from a 2022 rap song.

It was released on all major streaming platforms yesterday.

You can listen to the whole song below:

It’s a short song altogether, featuring some narration by an unknown voice. What’s particularly ironic about the song is the spoken word outtro:

‘Ey AB, man, you had the three little boys, and God just gave you another soul, man. You’ve been out the game for over a year, you put up big numbers. But you know the greatest number? Lovin’ them four young boys that look up to you more than anybody else. Keep ballin’, keep workin’ and keep being loved — and love the ones that love you.

Brown has made a second career as an on-again-off-again rapper for some time, and has appeared in Drake music videos and alongside Rick Ross for his song “Whole Lotta Money.”

‘Pit not the Palace’ lyrics

Here are the full lyrics for AB’s latest song:

AB,

Man, I’ve been sittin’ back waiting for the moment, man, to see you run down the field again,
Brother I told you from day one, this was gonna be a tough move,
You’ve made it You’ve came through the fire,
Be ready to see the light, ’cause the fans ready for you to be back.

I’m from the pit not the palace, I’m kinda stylish,
Lifestyle lavish,
Jump in the coupe with no mileage,
Run it, style it.

I’m from the pit not the palace,
I gotta run it, style it,
Hit on the gas, make it growl it,
Jump in the coupe with no mileage.

Came from the struggle, I had to hustle,
Get out the muzzle, this is no tussle.
I don’t gotta touch you I get the B, I make it bubble.
This s— is tough,
Fresh out the pavement.
They bring the pain, I bring the payment.
Throw in the hate, this an arrangement.

I told you from Day 1, this was gon’ be a tough move

I’m from the pit not the palace, I’m kinda stylish,
Lifestyle lavish Jump in the coupe with no mileage,
Run it, style it.

I’m from the pit not the palace,
I gotta run it, style it.
Hit on the gas, make it growl it,
Jump in the coupe with no mileage.

Ay, AB, man,
You having three lil’ boys, and God just gave you another soul, man.
You’ve been out the game for over a year, you put up big numbers.
But you know the greatest number, is loving them four young boys, that look up to you more than anybody else.
Keep balling, keep working but keep being loved,
And love the ones that love you.
