The grieving girlfriend of the Columbia University grad student who was stabbed to death near campus told The Post on Friday how the pair had hopeful plans for a bright future together.

“We had a long story, and we had plans for a life together soon after the end of his PhD in the beginning of next year,” said Ana Gonzalez, who was in a relationship with slain victim Davide Giri, 30.

“He was a kind and loving person,” Gonzalez said of her beau, who was killed in an apparent random attack by an alleged gang member in Morningside Park in Manhattan late Thursday.

“We are together,” she added, slipping into the present tense, referring to her and Giri.

“As you may understand, I do not feel like speaking about this at the moment.”

Giri, computer science PhD candidate from Italy, was knifed in the stomach, police and friends said Friday.

He had been walking back to his Morningside Heights apartment around 11 p.m. after soccer practice with his team when the assailant fatally stabbed him, injured a tourist and threatened another man near West 123rd Street and  Amsterdam Avenue, according to cops.

Giri stumbled out of the park, collapsed and was later pronounced dead at Mount Sinai-Saint Luke’s Hospital.

He was described by a friend as a warm and curious person and a “gifted student” in his northern Italy hometown, known for doing charity work with a local church.
