The deadly blaze broke out around 1:30 a.m. Saturday in the basement and first floor of 660 West 178th Street in Washington Heights, authorities said.
The child, Robert Resto, was pronounced dead at the scene while his unidentified grandmother, 54, was taken to Jacobi Medical Center in serious condition.
