A 55-year-old man was shot in the leg on a Brooklyn street in broad daylight Wednesday, leading to a police pursuit that ended in lower Manhattan, police and police sources said.
The gunfire rang out just before noon in front of 10405 Glenwood Road in Canarsie, according to police.
The bullet struck the man, who wasn’t immediately identified, in the right leg, and he was rushed to Brookdale University Hospital Medical Center in stable condition.
The shooter was driving a black Jaguar and fled to lower Manhattan with police in pursuit, police sources said.
A Tribeca man said he saw “twenty cop cars blowing past” his house on Greenwich street going the wrong way chasing the vehicle.
“It was crazy,” the witness said.
One person was taken into custody at Grand Street and Mercer Street, police sources said.
Police believe the same vehicle might have been involved in a past shooting, a police source said.
The shooting comes amid a surge in gun violence in the city.
